So, my question is, do the Eagles bring Shawn Andrews back now that they have another week to get him in shape (or next week if they move on). Before he had his mental breakdown / back injury / whatever he was considered the best guard in the league. Maybe if wouldn't be that important against the Cards, but if they make it past them to the Ravens, suddenly he gives Haloti a ton of problems.
They kept Andrews of IR just for this (as he'd have been done for the year). You want to know why they couldn't run the ball this year. His loss is a huge part of it.
That's a really tough call, Chris. He's been out so long, I just don't know. You'd think that with a healthy Andrews in there they would've averaged better than 2.47 yards/carry over the past 2 games. The answer is probably going to depend on how he looks in practice this week. If he's up to speed, like you said, this is why they didn't put him on the IR.
I will say that with Andy's new-found commitment to the run, it would be great to have Andrews in there to open holes and make the runs more than a symbolic, yet effective, gesture.
I think the run game is hurting because Westbrook is hurting. he does not have the same burst right now. If they somehow get out of Phoenix with a win, the two week break will be huge for #36. Adding Shawn Andrews in some situational stuff, for instance as a TE on goal line, might be huge.
Also, I think it is good that the Eagles play on grass this coming week
