Dan Pompei of the Chicago Tribune has gotten his mitts on a number of leaked Wonderlic scores. Average score for an NFL player is 19 questions answered correctly. I don't know if any of you guys have taken the Wonderlic but in my opinion, if you don't get the first 10 questions correct, just push your call button and Dan Leone will come back there and hit you on the head with a tack hammer because you are a 'retart.'
1. Which shape is a round? a) triangle b) square c) circle
Yeah, that's basically the level of the first few questions. Usually, questions become progressively harder as you move through the test. However, unlike my joke in poor taste above, a bad score doesn't necessarily mean a person is stupid. People learn and process critical thought in different ways - reading, speaking, listening, etc, so Wonderlic scores can be deceptive. Without further ado, here is a taste of the leaked scores reported by Pompei:
Quarterbacks
Matthew Stafford: 38
Mark Sanchez: 28
Josh Freeman: 27
Wide Receivers
Michael Crabtree: 15
Darrius Heyward-Bey: 14
Percy Harvin: 12
Hakeem Nicks: 11
Offensive Tackles
Eben Britton: 31
Eugene Monroe: 24
Jason Smith: 23
Michael Oher: 19
Andre Smith: 17
Linebackers
Clay Matthews: 27
Brian Cushing: 23
Rey Maualuga: 15
Defensive Backs
Kevin Barnes: 41
Louis Delmas: 12
Take all this with a grain of salt. Freddie Mitchell scored a 21, which would peg him as an NFL player with above average intelligence.
Hat tip to reader Bob for the heads up.
