- From all accounts Jeremy Maclin impressed at Mini-camps yesterday. He supposedly torched Ellis Hobbs on a sideline route.

Watch Ray Didinger slobber all over Jeremy Maclin on Comcast Sportsnet. Didinger is usually very measured with his appraisal of players - that's what excites me about this video.
I'm very eager to get to football season. While one never knows with draft picks, even 'sure things', this crop the Iggles has drafted (plus the free agents signed) sure looks promising.
I'm also somewhat curious as some people are making Maclin out to be small or not that really that fast. He is the same height / weight as Tim Brown (who he reminds me of style-wise), Torry Holt or Houshmandzadeh. In the NFL Draft profile of his (under General Report - Athletic Ability) it says he's has never been run down from behind.

I'm sure that will change in the pros but when they run the combine, no one is wearing pads. Watch his game highlights and he is certainly leaving people in the dust. It seems might be like Jerry Rice and play a lot faster than he times.

I haven't heard many question his speed, but I've heard people lump him into the DeSean Jackson size category. He's a got good size for a receiver - prototypical really.

I agree with you - I understand that 6' 200 lbs. is not TO or Fitzgerald size, but it's pretty good for a 20 year old. I don't think that Boldin was much bigger when he was drafted by the Cardinals, I think he's added about 15 lbs since he was drafted. All the scouting reports on Maclin indicate he will be able to add 10-20 lbs without loosing quickness.
R Diddy rarely gives props like that, and loved the video myself. Training camp and preseason should be fun his year evaluating all these young skill guys. Let's not forget the video of Ingram. Jesus. I hope that guy can utilize his body. He looks like a beast out there.
