Receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey has a
scheduled workout for the Birds. No word on the date. Heyward-Bey is the 6-3 Maryland Terrapin who clocked a 4.25 40 in last month's combine. He's also been a career underachiever with question marks surrounding his hands, route-running, and overall football sense. I'm not a fan of Heyward-Bey. I'm not a big fan of Maryland football players in general - especially on offense. See Vernon Davis, LaMont Jordan, Bruce Perry, etc. Heyward-Bey doesn't seem like a guy who would sniff the field as a rookie under Andy Reid. The Birds don't need another early round non-contributor. No thanks.

Dave,
I agree with your take on Nicks, I think he could be a really good WR. I also agree with your take on Heyward-Bey, just 'cause you can run a 4.2 or 4.3 does not make you a good WR, especially in the Eagles' offense. If he comes back from the knee injury, Jack Ike could be one of the best draft picks in recent memory. They guy has a ton of potential - maybe the Eagles know something about his health and that's why they let Dawk, Considine, and Lito leave. We can only hope.
Yeah, hopefully Ike can make an impact but he's got to keep pictures of him laying next to 3-foot bongs off facebook.
He'll be an interesting guy to watch in training camp.
If he can pull a 3 foot tube without a problem then we know he's been doing his cardio workouts.
