The perspective this week is simple. If Jamarcus Russell, pictured above, can rally the Raiders to take down Tampa, in Tampa Bay at 1 p.m. on Sunday, the Eagles will playing for a playoff berth at 4 pm.
If the Raider can somehow pull off that miracle win, the winner of the Eagles/Cowboys game will claim the final Wild Card spot in the NFC. If Tampa wins, the Cowboys can get in with a win over the Birds.
It turns my stomach to think of the wins left on the table by this team this season. If you look at it honestly, they don't deserve to be in the playoffs, but still, here we are. If I had a throwback Howie Long jersey, I'd wear it.
No matter what happens in the 1pm game, though, this game is huge for Eagles fans young and old. Worst-case scenario, they're playing at home with a chance to end Dallas' season in their final game of 2008. Even if they aren't playing for anything, they're definitely playing for something. A win on Sunday will do a little bit to put my mind at ease in the offseason, either way.
Brian the Eagles can only get in if Tampa loses AND the bears lose...If tampa just loses we would still get beat out by the bears.
50 pass plays for andy Reid last week...moron
Yup. Tampa loss to Jokeland and either the Viking lose to the Giants or the Bears lose to Houston.
I'm going to be watching 3 games at 1pm.
We get in if Tampa loses and either the Bears or Vikings lose.
If Tampa loses to Oakland and the Bear or Vikes lose and we beat Dallas. A lot of teams have to blow it for the Iggles to sneak into the playoffs. I love the Iggles as much as anyone, but they don't belong in the playoffs this year.
I dunno man...honestly speaking...I do feel if the Eagles stick with the run they can beat any team in the NFL...Eagles defense is GREAT when they are not on the field 3/4 of the game. Unfortunately Andy Reid blew at least 2 games by passing the ball 50 times...(Cincy and Washington)---so we will never know unless a miracle happens sunday.
