Becasue I don't feel like working yet this morning, I'll kee commenting.
1) Dunlap is an interesting prospect, can he play LT or is he strictly a RT?
2) What's the deal with the Eagles' fetish with combo DE/OLB prospects? Don't we have enough good DEs and LBs (especially when you compare the DE/LB situation to other needs on defense)?
3) Is anyone else mad the Eagles paid LJ Smith the franchise tag number last season when he's onlt worth $1.5mm? I hope he saved most of that contract.
My favorite line about King Dunlap is from the guys who put together "Pro Football Prospectus". When describing King Dunlap, they wrote, "First round name, third round game, 48th round work ethic". I might have fudged that a bit, but you get the idea. I must say I hame more optimism with him than I do with Winston Justice.
Maybe I'm delusional, but McCoy's 40 time doesn't scare me. I would still love to see him in Philly. I'm encouraged that they said the drill section of his workout was terrific. It's tough to determine what's a smoke screen and what's legit info.
I put the over/under on L.J.'s career at 1.5 seasons. Tight ends can hang around in the league if they can block. I don't think we need to say anything more.
When I heard $1.5MM, the first thing I thought of was the franchise tag myself. Quite a miscalculation on the Birds' part there. Was there really that strong of interest in the guy last offseason?
We'll see about Dunlap. The only thing it makes me wonder is that if the Eagles are spewing prop about Dunlap, how bad must Justice really be behind the scenes. Phew. It seems like the Birds are able to get almost something out of every one of their OL prospects. Doesn't seem to be the case there.
Yeah, its pretty sad when Castillo can take guys like Fraley, J. Jackson, and Nick Cole, and turn them into productive pros while the blue chippers like Justice just don't have the drive to succeed.
On another note - I don't care about McCoy's 40 time - he's plenty quick.
