Interesting little tidbit from the
Minnesota Star Tribune today regarding the health of one Adrian Peterson. The word is Mr. Peterson has been nursing a sore ankle that originally stemmed from the Vikes December 14th game against the Arizona Cardinals.
"It feels pretty good, I've been fighting with this ankle injury the past three weeks. Going out on Sundays I take a lot of shots in the legs, so it got twisted up on that play and it was pretty painful [against the Giants]."
Now Peterson didn't look too limited given his 67-yard TD burst against the Giants, but take that little sucker away and you're looking at 20 attempts for 36 yards. The week earlier against the Falcons, Peterson looked pretty mediocre going for 76 yards on 22 attempts with a couple fumbles. As for those little concerns called fumbles, Peterson has put the ball on the turf 5 times in the last 4 games, luckily only losing 1 total. Someone alert Brian Dawkins.
He actually came out of the game at one point against the Giants, it was right after he coughed one up so I wasn't sure if it was a "let me fake an injury to excuse the fumble" type of situation. He broke that 67-yarder a couple of minutes later, so I kinda thought it was.
I took a look at the run on youtube, and he looked good to me. He cut hard and took off.
Let's just hope the injury rears its ugly head come Sunday.
